Nature Table
Nature Table

Found objects and made objects.
Mixed materials. Techniques employed include wrapped lashing, ply split darning, stake and strand basketry, mixing metals, press forming, patination.

Dimensions vary. As a reference, the silver tube made in response to horsetail is h 11.5 cm x 1.5 cm diameter. 2013 -2014.

The exhibition provided an impetus to find a new way of working with different materials and processes. The nature table gave a loose framework for exploration.
Materials include copper wire, silver and gold plated copper wire, copper, brass and silver sheet. I have used textile and basketry techniques, and basic metalworking skills. Nothing is a copy of the thing I picked up – it is what happened through play and manipulation of materials .
