Two Walks, Surveyed
Two Walks, Surveyed

Two chains, each 4.5m long. Welding rod, silver solder, found objects. Etched brass tags. 2013/4

This exhibition is about the landscape of the North Pembrokeshire coast, walking and finding.I studied geography at university and maps and mapping are central to my life and the way in which I work.

These chains are based on the idea of the Gunter’s chain which has been used for surveying since the 17th century. They relate to 2 walks in Pembrokeshire and contain objects collected along the way. They are markers of the walk, and jog my memory of a time and place.
