This is a three dimensional, three directional plait made of paper rubbed with graphite. The tumbling blocks of the structure trick your eyes so that you think you are looking at points when you are looking at hollows, and vice versa.
The title refers to the frequent forecast of "rain, spreading from the west". The front is often visible on the horizon, the band of rain moving faster than I can.
