This golden hanging was a commission which now hangs above the desk of a writer. 3 shades of gold paper are woven so that the facets of the blocks are different shades and the hanging therefore changes according to the strength and direction of the light and the position of the viewer. This commission was designed for a room with a window on the left, and down-lights illuminating it from the right and above at night. As one enters the room from the right diagonal bright golden stripes are clearly visible. These fade as one faces the hanging and then subtle darker diagonal stripes come into view. From the left hand side both sets of stripes are more muted. As one moves around the room the whole hanging appears to flicker and shimmer.
